These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with Thomas Maheady trading as The Bristol Char-a-bang (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a seat or hiring our vehicle, you (“the Customer”, “the Hirer”) agree to the following terms, which include our booking policies.

1. Booking and Capacity

Passenger Limit: Our vehicle is strictly limited to a maximum of 13 passengers. We cannot, under any circumstances, carry more than 13 people due to UK licensing and insurance laws. Children: All children and infants count as one passenger and must occupy their own seat in accordance with UK road safety legislation, adhering to passenger safety regulations.

2. Scheduled Tours (Per-Seat Bookings)

Punctuality: Our tours operate on a strict schedule. The bus will depart at the time stated on your booking confirmation. We recommend arriving at the departure point 15 minutes early. If you miss the departure, it will be treated as a ‘no-show’ and no refund will be given. Cancellations by You: More than 72 hours’ notice: Full refund (minus a £5 administration fee per person). 24 to 72 hours’ notice: 50% refund. Less than 24 hours’ notice: No refund. Cancellations by Us: If we must cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., mechanical breakdown or extreme weather), you will receive a 100% refund or the option to reschedule. Our liability is limited to the cost of the ticket only.

3. Private Hire (Full Vehicle Booking)

Deposits: A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure a private hire booking. Punctuality: For private hire, we allow a 15-minute grace period from the agreed pickup time. After 15 minutes, a waiting fee of £20 per 30-minute increment will be charged. Cancellations by The Hirer: More than 14 days’ notice: Refund of all monies paid, excluding the non-refundable deposit. 7 to 14 days’ notice: 50% of the total hire fee is payable according to our vehicle hire conditions. Less than 7 days’ notice: 100% of the total hire fee is payable, according to our vehicle hire conditions.

4. Passenger Conduct and Safety

Right of Refusal: We reserve the right to refuse boarding or require a passenger to leave the vehicle if they are under the influence of excessive alcohol/drugs, or are acting in an abusive or dangerous manner. No refund will be issued in these cases. Alcohol & Food: For the comfort of all passengers, the consumption of hot food or alcohol is not permitted on board unless specifically agreed in writing for a Private Hire contract. Smoking: Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on the vehicle at all times. Damage: The Hirer (for private hire) or the individual passenger (for tours) is responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle. We reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee of £50 for any excessive mess or soiling.

5. Luggage and Personal Property

Due to weight limits and space, each passenger is limited to one small "cabin-sized" bag. We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property left on the vehicle.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
